Common Sense Practical Applications

Capacity & Delivery Resolution

Delivering on your promises is doing what you say you are going to do when you say you are going to do it; with positive daily habits of innovation. Acting with this integrity, with committed/capable people – helps win further business.

One of the main challenges we find the low-volume high-variety (LVHV) product manufacturing industry faces is to improve customer on-time deliveries in full (OTIF) against their original promised date (OPD).

Approached with an efficient-thinking mindset, cross-functional teams (CFTs) can typically improve OTIF over a nine-month period; with the largest impact realised in the first six months.

Margin-based supply chain optimisation – a fresh business approach, is based on two key business priorities:

1) the desire to deliver more high-profit products to customers, and

2) the ability to stop serving customers and products with low-profit yield. For companies with complex supply chain operations, this is often easier said than done.

With the total delivered cost of a product being the sum of all raw material, manufacturing, distribution, inventory, and transportation costs incurred to reach the customer’s door; margin-based supply chain optimisation is most effective when the actual costs for changing these supply chain activities are comprehensively understood. With data available in a typical ERP database, companies can quickly and accurately estimate each of the following costs: the manufacturing cost of each product in a plant, the cost to move it from the plant to the warehouse, the cost to store the product and ship it from the warehouse, and the cost to deliver the product to a given customer.

We help companies develop their capacity and achieve on-time deliveries in full, irrespective of customer demand rates.

Experts In Making Complexity Simple

Transformation Excellence

Put simply, Transformation Excellence is about enabling your strategy to deliver the desired results – in a positively impactful way. Your Vision is your aims, your Strategy is how you are going to achieve (and maintain) your Vision. Your strategic plan (a clear shared vision) with tactical implementation plans for each business function (to enable everyone at every level to understand how they can contribute to the Vision) to achieve your desired end result. For companies with limited resources, it’s crucial to avoid costly missteps when launching a transformation. A mistake made by many companies, large and small, when planning a transformation – is a mindset of focussing on implementing already tried, tested, and proven tools & techniques.

“Cherry-picking” of individual tools & techniques can hinder any transformation. The methods are most effective when applied as part of a system – a system that gives customers what they want, when they want it, at the lowest cost, and with the highest quality, and the shortest lead-time. By concentrating on techniques, managers (not leaders) implement bits and pieces of what they feel will transform the company – without understanding how the whole system is affected. A better approach, endorsed by those that have succeeded, is first to understand the thought process that ties all the techniques together into a complete system. This efficient thinking approach has five key steps through six phases.

We help companies achieve their vision with a set of principles/tools around a bespoke framework to suit the unique circumstances of the company. It can be applied for the design of new systems & processes; and used to improve existing systems & processes.

Helping Organisations’ Transformation Efforts

M&A Activities

Helping companies plan, create, and capture value in an innovative way that helps turnaround business performance with stability in readiness to achieve growth.

Maximising the intrinsic value of a company by measuring the DCF (Discounted Cash Flow), thus creates value over time by improving the intrinsic value. Whether this is by increasing the ROIC (Return On Invested Capital), consistently investing new capital to generate returns that exceed the company’s cost of capital, or by releasing unproductive capital – the board decides.

As with any attribute of an Advantaged Company, maximising intrinsic value should start with evaluating the current company’s performance. This involves assessing where value is being created or destroyed within the company, utilising the tool: Value Stream Mapping (VSM), also known as “material- and information flow mapping“, a lean management method for analysing the current state and designing a future state for the series of events that take a product or service from the beginning of a specific process until it reaches the customer.
